A note from the research desk

The document comes first.

The Paper Trail is a publication by Mountainhead Research, the editorial voice of Mountainhead. We write practical guides to the public records behind market research: congressional disclosures, SEC filings, institutional holdings and movement data.

What you should expect

Every guide starts with an answer, links to primary sources, and explains what the available evidence leaves out. We distinguish a transaction date from a filing date, an ownership snapshot from a live position, and an observation from an inference.

Examples marked as hypothetical are teaching aids. Our diagrams and cover illustrations are original explanatory artwork, not reproductions of real filings or evidence of a real transaction.

Our relationship to Mountainhead

Mountainhead is our product. When we recommend its research terminal or API, that relationship is explicit. We describe useful workflows and their limits; we do not promise a trading edge, complete coverage or profitable outcomes.

Bylines and corrections

Most guides are bylined Mountainhead Research. Jeff Abredazi is a Mountainhead pen name used for occasional commentary on our X account. Neither byline implies a regulated financial qualification.

We date material revisions and correct inaccurate claims. To flag an error, send the guide URL, the disputed statement and its primary source through @mountainhead_ai.

A starting point, not a recommendation

These guides are research and education, not personalized investment, legal or tax advice. Public disclosures can be late, incomplete or amended. Read the original record and evaluate the underlying business before making a decision.
